Sounds like a dream! I'd love to know more about how you created your pond. It's something I'm very keen to do here. And your hazel hedge will be a fantastic asset to the space. We planted one a few years ago and it's stunning now. Last year it produced its first hazelnuts (very exciting) and it was also laden with ladybird larvae.
The pond was all down to the guide in Give It A Grow by Martha Swales, as well as a few tips from pond queen @Kate Bradbury - it’s got a few shelved spaces, lots of places for birds to get down for a drink, plus some water mint, dropwort and lesser spearwort. Your hazel sounds unreal. Ours is really growing fast, can’t wait for it to start coming together
Hi Joe! I have a note in my calendar to contact you this week and see if you’re well enough for a trip to Hillsborough! Sounds like it still might be a challenge but if you’d like us to come collect you and drive you over then we are doing some gardening at RRARAF on bank holiday Monday, it’ll be no rouble to come fetch you, just let me know if you fancy escaping to another garden for a bit!
